Recent Recordings

Deborah recently recorded two works for the composer Rodney Janet Stone. The first was a setting of six the Omar Khayyàm (1048-1131) ‘Rubàiyàt’ verses. These six verses are part of a much bigger complete setting by Rodney Janet Stone. This very modern setting of the verses is both tender and expressive to the text translated by Edward Fitzgerald. The complete work will be available to listen to and watch on you tube in the coming months.

Also written by Rodney Janet Stone, Deborah has recorded ‘Cyril Tourneur’ for voice and piano. ‘Cyril Tourneur’ was a poem written in 1878 by Algernon Charles Swinburne. The setting of this vivid and dark text is modern and at times aggressive for the singer. It requires a great deal of range and vocal techniques.

Both works were recorded in December 2019 and will be released shortly. Some images of the session are in the Gallery
